Has Anyone ever had low range not engage when selected? ie packed up solenoid, faulty switch etc? I'm trying to see how reliable the solenoid option is vs a mechanical lever.

Hi dj,
From the lack of discussion re this item on this site, I would say that the setup is quite reliable.

83000 miles on our 2005 D3 and not had any problems with the low range selector - it is used reasonably often and there's been quite a lot of mud under the vehicle.
