Low pressure fault now won’t start? SORTED

Hi
I changed the front hub today and when I took the car for a test drive it kept saying engine fault and had no power. No other bongs or bings and drove without issue yesterday 100 miles.
I plugged my tool in and got code p2290-00 injector control pressure too low.

I did change the fuel filter Incase it was in need of replacement, previous owner provided a service kit, and now it won’t start. I followed the rimmer bro video and have double checked pipe locations.
The new filter doesn’t have a drop of fuel in it and I am not getting any fuel at the schrader valve

I am not sure if I can hear the pump running but have put a multi meter on the fuse which is live for 30 seconds then goes off.

Does this sound like the in tank pump is dead and coincidence that it went after doing the hub or have I dislodged something etc?
I did try and crack the drive shaft nut with the wheel off and obviously It tried to turn the drive train but then put wheel back on and used the weight to stop it turning - only giving all the facts of what I did as a precaution.

I don’t know what else to check now ( not hugely mechanically skilled) so just asking here before calling the aa.
56 plate Tdv6 auto
Thanks
Baz

AA diagnosed a dead in tank fuel pump.
Got it on their computer and we’re showing no fuel pressure on that pump but pressure on the rail, also no current draw on the fuse but power.
If I hadn’t changed the filter and released the pressure I could have driven it to the garage. He said it had probably been on its way out for a while.
Just not sure if it’s a coincidence that it went faulty yesterday or if I have disturbed something knocking the old hub off.
It’s off to the garage on Monday as can’t trust myself to do the job without breaking something else.

I would check the wiring to the fuel pump the fuse box and connectors are on that side the vibration could have disturbed something if you were hitting things with a hammer.
I would remove the battery and check the connectors behind and look inside the wing under the plastic linner im sure theres a connector there that has the pump wires in.
I would also replace the fuel pump relay

Thanks, I was wondering about vibration but wasn’t sure if there was anything else to check.

I get power at the fuse for 30 seconds when key turned on so assumed the relay is good
I am not sure where the cabling runs from the engine fuse box to the pump

Will try and get the wheel lining off and check but a struggle to get into that wheel arch now it’s parked.
Everything else seems to work, just a shame you can’t get to the pump connectors from the top.
Thanks
Baz

I would assume anything you might just have power to the relay. If you can get under and find the wires going to the pump you could test them there which would prove the relay or you could run a temporary feed to the pump so it works all the time and at least prove the pumps ok and get the engine running

Did you get the connections right when you changed the filter, have you checked that the pipes are fully home and on the correct position.? And is it a LR filter not a cheapo.

Flack Thumbs Up

It was a bearmach filter I put on the first time then incase it was a faulty one put the original one back on.
I checked the fuel pipe config using the picture off the guide on here and also took some of the tops before taking it off but am going to triple check again before the AA take it away to a grown up.

the low pressure fault appeared before I changed the filter so I thought I must have stirred up something in the tank doing the work so maybe change the filter.

The aa had not current draw from the pump when he plugged in Hence why he thinks it’s the pump.

Am off to try and double check, thanks all for your thoughts.

Sorted, the fuel pump had died, which was wasn’t as a result of anything I did I think.
Had it replaced and all good ( fingers crossed)
Thanks
