Low mileage service intervals? |
|
We purchased our 2011MY D4 in June 2014, it's last service was carried out in January of that year at 42,000 miles, we are currently having it serviced at a Land Rover dealer and it is having a 4 year/64,000 mile service.
My question is that it has only actually covered 48,500 miles and we expect to cover 8,000miles annually therefore keeping to the service schedule will mean in twelve months it will be due a 80,000 service yet it will only have covered 57,000 miles. Is there a provision for low mileage use, as we wish to keep it under a warranty and maintain it correctly, but we will end up having larger services earlier then necessary which will increase the cost of ownership unnecessarily (3 year service plan up to the 7th service is £2,300) I would of thought an annual inspection and oil service with the corresponding mileage service when required would be acceptable, but this I guess will invalidate the warranty and negatiate any "good will" if needed from Land Rover, any thoughts?

It is mileage or time interval whichever comes first. Regular fluid changes are what are important. .
