Low Coolant Level Warning |
|
I've got the Low Coolant Level Warning coming on sporadically. After reading the various threads earlier, I was pretty annoyed 'cause I thought I'd fixed my problems!
Then I decided to actually check the coolant level..... Have a nice day!

It's taught me to get back into the habit of doing a 'first parade' on the car each morning. Have a nice day!

Jamo,
I had this message a few weeks ago and at first the reservoir tank was below the low mark so I topped the tank up with water. I couldn't but any coolant to mix from the LR dealer - they cannot sell me any small qtys (eg 1lt) as they only buy it in 200lt drums.
The message wouldn't go away and everytime you started or turned off the D3 the message would pop up. After a week or two of putting up with the message I called the dealer to ask them to have a look.
The sensor in the tank was faulty and they replaced the reservoir tank and sensor.
This apparently is a common fault.

I had the same problem on my D3 but it turned out to be a faulty sensor.
If your car is losing coolant then you MUST get the system pressure tested at a LR dealer straightaway!
It could simply be a split hose, leaky radiator or heating matrix problem but in the worst case it could a head gasket problem especially if there are no visible signs of any leaks. Money talks.Sex sells.Mud sticks.Time flys. happens.People talk.Impressions last!

Thanks Turbochip.
I've topped it up and will keep an eye on it. Can't get to the service for three weeks, but if it loses more, I'll just ground her till then. Have a nice day!
