not me - never had or wanted any vehicle with a swastika on the underside (except for an original beetle) but back on topic, my two d3's are easily the best cars i've ever owned Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

I love mine because it is simply the best car I have ever owned.

I love driving it, very comfy and very practical. To me it is as good as it gets but doesn't shout out that I am a Flash B*st*rd

Quite simply, it is the best motor I have owned. Sure,
it costs a bit to run but well worth it!

Luxembourg 2008 Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE Auto Java BlackDiscovery 3

I have been having this conversation all afternoon today...with about 50 Luxembourgers...(okay - so one of them has five and half Defenders... Laughing ) and I don't know why...especially as on Tuesday and after 5 weeks I got my D3 back "fixed"...and today I had the same old Engine System Fault, HDC / Special Programs Off messages and no more than 50 km/h 3 effing times (once when SWMBO was about to overtake a lorry on the motorway Shocked Evil or Very Mad )...

But I still love the car.

I do see it as one of the best all round vehicles. Even in terms of 4WD/SUV its not the most economical, quickest (point to point), best offroad, spacious...etc...But it does just enough of all of that in one package. Other vehicles might have one outstanding trait - D3 really is the "all-rounder" Thumbs Up

Which, despite the 8 month problem I have with mine which is now at the point it doesn't drive very far I feel Big Cry rather than Evil or Very Mad
The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

Club "yes, I too have had the EGR's replaced..."
Club "yes, I too have had the compressor replaced..."
Club "yes, I too once had the car at the dealer for a couple of weeks nearly 4 weeks over 4 weeks...5 weeks"
Club "yes, I too have had EPB failure..."
Club "yes, I too get mysterious bings and bongs..."
