A little bit of civilisation in my crazy life
Safety, its like a big St. Bernard dog protecting your loved ones, very safe in these bad conditions. There's one wheel on my wagon, but i'm still rollin' along, it's the cherokee, they're after me, but I'm singing a happy song

It could be the leather interior or the rubber mats... errr noo!

not me - never had or wanted any vehicle with a swastika on the underside (except for an original beetle) but back on topic, my two d3's are easily the best cars i've ever ownedSteve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Only looking at what people owned on their last cars thread But German cars aside, It is one hell of an all rounder 8)Global Warming.... I'm luvvin it
I have been having this conversation all afternoon today...with about 50 Luxembourgers...(okay - so one of them has five and half Defenders... ) and I don't know why...especially as on Tuesday and after 5 weeks I got my D3 back "fixed"...and today I had the same old Engine System Fault, HDC / Special Programs Off messages and no more than 50 km/h 3 effing times (once when SWMBO was about to overtake a lorry on the motorway )...
But I still love the car.
I do see it as one of the best all round vehicles. Even in terms of 4WD/SUV its not the most economical, quickest (point to point), best offroad, spacious...etc...But it does just enough of all of that in one package. Other vehicles might have one outstanding trait - D3 really is the "all-rounder"
Which, despite the 8 month problem I have with mine which is now at the point it doesn't drive very far I feel rather than The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...
Club "yes, I too have had the EGR's replaced..."
Club "yes, I too have had the compressor replaced..."
Club "yes, I too once had the car at the dealer for a couple of weeksnearly 4 weeksover 4 weeks...5 weeks"
Club "yes, I too have had EPB failure..."
Club "yes, I too get mysterious bings and bongs..."
