Interesting discussion, our (manual) disco is always reluctant to pull away and bogs down on many an occasion, not slipping the clutch though having just had one fail at 40K Rolling Eyes

Will have to try the MAF test as matter of interest.

Ade just to confirm it was the MAF sensor - that's the one just beside the air filter.

Update on this.

Had a new MAF sensor fitted today and no change what so ever. Still showing the same MAF error code and no joy.

Arghh. Any more ideas ??

Finally Got it Fixed Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

It was an inline fuse to the ECU.

After 5 hours at my local garage, 1 hour at the main Stealers and a morning at the garage I bought it off, a nice man called Peter Taylor who has a lock up about 8 miles South of Chester (and incedently is my new Land Rover GOD Bow down) found the fuse in 15 minutes.

He even collected the car and dropped it off as well as washing it before returning it to me. AND only charged me for the 30 mins labour.

That man is highly recommended. !!!!

PM me for his contact details if anyone has a problem in the Chester, Wrexham, Crewe, Nantwich Whitchurch area.

Hes a GOD Bow down

Nice one! I guess the fuse went when the wires were caught? or something else?

So is this a fuse that isn't in the fusebox? Thumbs Up

Now that I don't know Ian.

SWMBO dealt with the guy and just said it was and inline fuse to the ECU. I've clarified it with her and she doesn't know what he really said. Its could have been and ECU fuse or a fuse to the ECu or a fuse from the ECu or anything. I don't think she was paying too much attention.

All I know is shes been for a big tour of Northern Shropshire and Southern Cheshire to tell all her family and to do some shopping. (Well whatever shes been upto its cost me money Rolling with laughter )

I'll ask the bloke. He seems very good and reasonable to be fair. I just love the free car wash - saves me doing it before I got away with the tint tent !!

ade, its no help to you but i also have the same problem, no power around 1500 rpm, goes like a scalded cat above that, had it to the dealers, no fault codes = no idea, had a techi in the car with me he agreed its a little slow on the pick up,

Got to give it a month then take it back, but its a pig to drive at the moment come off a traffic island or round a corner in third at 1500 rpm and it just sits there poke the throttle a bit harder and it kicks down and goes like a rocket just no middle ground, torque what torque.

Yep, same here Big Cry

No fault codes showing, theyve replaced the MAF, but no change

They agree that there is a power problem at low revs, but dont know what the problem is

Mine is also probably more noticable due to it being a manual gearbox

Mines not an EGR problem, the EGR's were blanked a long time ago

Its now booked into a local indy for next Monday, so I'll see if they can find anything
