Losing power on a long uphill...

Gents,

Quick question, when I am out and about cruising our South African 'freeways' I find that my 2012 SDV6 loses power on a long steady uphill when in cruise control...

I can see the revs and speed drop to about 80km/h from 120km/h without the auto box gearing down. When I put my foot down to override the cruise control the auto drops a gear and from there starts gaining speed in cruise control.

I have had a dual flush about 5000km ago with a dose of Dr Tranny but that didnt fix it.

Any ideas what this could be? blocked/ dirty Fuel filter? or is this perhaps another symptom of my mud in radiator issue

something isnt right, a 40kph drop. In the UK on hills mine drops 2mph when on cruise before the cruise control picks the speed back up to whatever it was set at, changing down if it need to.

How long has it done this? -has it always been like it or has it just started.
If it has just started try a hard reset, this will remove any corruption in all the modules caused by static electricity.
If it has always done it there is a setting in the CCF for the % speed drop before changing down which may or may not help, Make a note of existing settings before any changes.
I had this problem with my D3, when it did change down it took off like a scalded cat to reach the speed setting, an update of the gearbox software from GAP completely cured it, I’ve never had it happen with the D4.
I don’t think you are losing power, just speed, if you are losing power it would change down sooner rather than later.
Do you have DPF? - it could be in the cleaning cycle, this usually happens on long drives and can reduce power.
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

Don’t be to over zealous with the Dr Tranny, although it works wonders with slipping clutches by making the oil seals swell it also makes all the oil seals swell, don’t use it unless there s no other economical solution, it is usually only a temporary solution to buy more time to cure the real problem.
