5 miles from us....did you go over and go on up the lane or come back...???parts of the walkway were taken out in this last winter...
No, not being familiar with it and not having time to do a recce we gave it a miss. Is it a go-er? Current: Discovery 3 06MY (55 reg) HSE Auto Zambezi Silver Allisport Fast Road Intercooler, V8 Brakes, Silicone IC Hoses, EGRs Blanked, Remapped, De-Cat pipe, FBHIC

the lane goes up the hill for about a mile before it meets a tarmaced lane..the locals on the bere peninsula do use the ford occasionally as tides allow.the last time I drove it was about 35 years ago in an Austin gypsy..the upper reaches are rutted polished slate and can be very slippy...there are some scary drop offs as you climb next the river bend..there is an old mine shaft about 300 yards from the dam.
there is another ford downstream by maristow quay...about 400 yards from the dam...it is little used as you probably need a largish 4 x 4 tractor.the local farmers have been known to use it as it saves a large detour. on the bere ferrers side you follow the shore around once you've got across.very much prone to silting up...salt water down there..
