Loose Front Seat 8.5MY Disco HSE

Has anyone experience of a loose seat (slight movement on braking and pulling away) with the new model seat type for HSE.
Mine is moving, I returned to the dealer the same day as another customer was complaing. Tried three cars in the dealer and all had the same problem.
Anyone got a solution from their dealer yet?

Is it still safe?

If not i would not be driving it and would be calling LRA with a view to getting a loan car until it IS safe to drive!

Hope it gets sorted soon. Thumbs Up

Seat has been checked by dealer. I'm not happy with it, but so far they say they have reported to LR and waiting a response as all their new vehicles have the same problem. I expect a response on Friday. But have warned them I will reject the vehicle if its not sorted. Shame as its such a nice car, but movement is anoying and has the feeling it will get worse.

From experience, If you are considering rejection. Then put it in writing very early, not just to dealer principle but also to LR customer services. You will need to show that the car was not right at a very early stage, very low mileage. And that a reasonable and safe fix was not available Thumbs Up

I can say from experience that it will get worse, the travel when braking and under acceleration is noticably more than when I picked it up new in March. To be honest when I picked it up I had to question myself whether it was moving or not, now I can definitley feel it. The trouble is I drive my Defender 90 for wok Mon to Fri and dont get to use it half as much as I'd like. Last Tuesday the mileage was 7300, by Wednesday night it was 8500 and it has definitely got worse.

Off to the dealers first thing on Thursday as soon as I have returned to the UK, still look on the bright side, LRCC will be told that the movement renders the seat dangerous and the car unuseable, they will then have to lend me another HSE D3 or a FFRR until mine is fixed.

Ditto here

The car is currently with the Stealer for a new headlight (shutter jamming) and a lovely all over polish after they managed to cover the rest of the car with a lovely fine dusting of lacquer overspray whilst sorting some small paint defects under the doors. Two days with a detailer - won't be cheap (for them Twisted Evil )

They are supposedly looking at the seat at this time - although it has been raised with them in writing before.

Just a quick update on this one.

Apparently, there WAS a TSB on this issue, but JLR recinded it very soon after release. There was a replacement part number for a new seat frame, but this is no longer available. My Stealer has one on back order for his own car and will let me know when it arrives (he may let me have it instead - mark of a good man Very Happy ).

Any help from The Large One on this?

Update - loose seat

After a couple of letters to Dealer and LandRover Finance I have been informed that finaly a fix is available and Technical Bulitein has been released to the dealers. Mine is booked in for the fix tomorrow so lets see if it stops the movement. Apparently many HSE seats are effected so worth getting sorted if you feel yors moves on braking

I normally lurk around the RRS site because that's what I own.

However, I also have the same seat movement problem on my 2008 RRS. The dealer is awaiting parts from blighty. A known issue with some VIN RRS apparently. You are right, it is annoying but so far, that's the only issue with the car.

Loose Seat Fix

Well I can report that it is now posible to get a fix for the moving seats on HSE MY8.5.
There is a service bulitean LTB 00176V2. The seat top rails are replaced. Took about 3 hours, but it was the first one the dealer had done, so will be quicker.
I had mine done at J V Like and they expect many more. Shame they didn't fix the other items as they ordered the wrong parts. I shouldn't expect miracles and get everything solved in one vist after waiting 7 months. That would be far too efficient and customer focused.
Anyway at least the seats don't move anymore.
Good Luck to all those bum sliders out there.
