Good luck in finding a base changer ..there must be one out there.
As for your dealer.... it sounds like a self fulfilling prophecy Have you thought of changing them? 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Haha yes indeed I have. I bought the car from them 6 weeks ago, and so some of my 6 faults should be rectified by them just simply because they supplied it, and should've done it before the sale, but they did give me a warranty so it's doubly covered. I'll give them a chance and see what happens. I don't use dealers as a rule, but for warranty work etc... D3 TDV6 HSE 2008 Buckingham Blue (current)

Hi there,
I too have the same problem on my 09 HSE that I recently purchased privately.
Can I ask a simple question, is this repair a recall that I should expect my local LR dealer to fix or is it something that I have to fund myself? It sounds like it is taking a few attempts to fix - therefore it could end up being quite expensive!
Hoping that as it's a known fault LR should repair for me? Possibly..!
Cheers,
Phil

I bought mine recently from a LR dealer, so it is under LR warranty. Not sure yet how they will fix it, I will know later this week hopefully. If they just use the TSB as detailed above, I will not be satisfied, as I already tried this myself, and not happy with the results. Watch this space. D3 TDV6 HSE 2008 Buckingham Blue (current)

Thank you for the reply.
I will be following this with great interest - also to see if it's a know recall!
Cheers.

hi Captfathead,
It is NOT a recall item. However, if your D3 is under warranty, they should attempt to fix foc. The Bearded Dragon

OK.
Thanks for the info - it's not under warranty. I'll get the spanners out and see what I can do!
Cheers,
Phil.

Just got mine back from the dealer after 3 days.... There were other problems, including a new steering column after only 23k miles!! But about the seats....
Basically they have just carried out the TSB and adjusted the left track a few turns further forward to squew the seat in the tracks which is supposed to tighten everything up. I explained to the engineer that I did this already, and I wasn't happy with the results. He said that the 13 turns required in the TSB are only for severe cases, and because mine was only slight, he had only adjusted it by 7 or 8 turns.
This means the motor is not as strained as it is after 13 turns which I am slightly happier about, however I can tell you that the motor is still straining more than before the TSB.
Also, although the seat rocking is better, it is still evident unfortunately so I'm not so happy about that, nor about the fact that the seat now creaks loudly, inevitable I suppose after you twist the frame! I will give it a couple of days and see if it settles down before I complain further. D3 TDV6 HSE 2008 Buckingham Blue (current)

The problem is back, so looks like more adjustment is necessary, however the more adjustment, the more strained the motor is. This is far from a good fix. It's a bodge. D3 TDV6 HSE 2008 Buckingham Blue (current)

I am now being told by the dealer (Rocar Moores, Huddersfield) that they won't do any more to the seat, as a small amount of rocking should be expected. They tell me it is "wear and tear" and should be expected of a 4 year old car.
Trouble is, the car had done only 22k miles when I bought it a few weeks ago, so how can they say the seat is worn out after only 22k miles? It is under warranty too, but they still won't give in. I drove my last D3 to 9 years old and 152k miles and never had the seat "wear out", so why is this acceptable? D3 TDV6 HSE 2008 Buckingham Blue (current)

A week old used D3, just returned to LR dealer for a 2nd time to fix the rocking of the drivers seat.
The problemm is the seat doesn't move each time you set off/ slow down / stop. You can actually hear the seat clearly move back a notch on the runner. My wife returned the car again this morning and the head technician said to expect some movement. Utter (rap to me. Owned Merc, Audi, Volvo, Toyota etc and all had electric seats and none had this issue. In fact they had all done at least double and some quadruple the mileage but none had this problem.
I suspect he simply tightened the cable when if fact I believe the runner should be replaced. If this fails I will take it back again and ask them to replace the runner, if they won't I will take it to another land rover dealer / speclist and get them to change the runner and take the dealer to the small claims for reimbursement.

Thanks to Wiggs for the below link. I expect I will be firing this off to the dealers when I have to take the car back again for the seat problem...
