That was my hope too....but the service indicator came on showing 1950 miles to go last week.....and a few days later the "pads worn" light came on "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

So that leaves the question of how much life is left in the pad when the light comes on?
Can you do another 1950 miles?
Don't think I'd want to risk it MY2022 D5 HSE D300 - with extra nice bits added

Dealer flagged up 95% worn rears, and 10 days later the warning light came on,so no,there's no way I'd risk it for another 2k-odd miles in a heavy beast like the Discovery....it's our daily family workhorse, and on rural wet roads, when the brakes get well used,it was never a possibility....hence the increasingly urgent texts and calls to Mike ..... "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

I am not keen on the cylinders being that far out the calipers even if they are behind rubber boots. I see less problems with company cars where the brakes are worn out regular than biddy run abouts that get the brakes stripped every 5 years. D4
