Someone is having a laugh at your wallets expense, they are only about £3 to buy from a stealers I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

If by the key you mean the bit that normally lives in the car and gets put over the locking nut to release it, then it is the same bit i was referring to at £3 a pop
edit: i bought x2 last month when i lost my original one after a wheel change I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

I have several to spare, all bent or cracked through trying to get the naffed lock nut off. I agree, £3 a time at most, somebody is taking the do do outta you sir.
Have you checked the holder where the tool bag is, O/S/R compartment, take the bag out and there is a holder at the bottom of the compartment, maybe they put it back to where it should be.

Maybe he was going to order the full range of keys to find the one which fits, that could be £40. If your lucky the key number will be in the service book on a special card or on the supplying dealers computer. I have a key card that came with mine.
EDIT: I bought a spare from the Large One for £3

so for £40 I can just waltz into a dealer and buy all the keys to help myself to any LR wheel I fancy???
So it costs me £100 odd for the locking wheel nuts and less than half than that for all the official tools to remove them??!!
Hmmm, I can see why they are more hassle than they are worth............ end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......

I ditched my locking wheelnuts this week and replaced with normal ones...The possibility of someone having a jack handy that can lift a 3 ton car and be able to quickly get the wheels off is (I think) less likely than my nut key breaking (which it is slowly doing...) The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...
