I know there have been plenty of posts on this topic but none replicated my exact problem. I have a suspension fault so decided to raise to off road height and disconnect battery. Did this, locked all the doors etc then disconnected. Next day suspension totally deflated on each corner so decided to try again. Opened car with key on passenger side-no problem. Required no effort at all.
Next I reinflated back to off road height and again locked up and disconnected battery and closed the bonnet like last time.
Following day suspension had dropped slightly but not much. So tried to open door as before but lock would not budge. So totally locked out. Tried the tow bar electric fix using the pins recommended- nothing. I expect the reason was that the battery was off so no circuit. Then tried using the centre pin as earth and trying the live on each pin in turn- success.! Used the centre as earth and the live on the charging socket at the 4 o'clock position.
Don't know what I would do without this forum. a6rrw
