Are live values reliable?
I am reading the steering angle sensor value and voltage in live values but sometimes the angle will be stuck at a value and the voltage will be either too low (0.25V) or too high (22)
I can't reliably repeat this behaviour to see if it is the tool or the car. Has anyone else had similar experience?
I attach two graphs as an example
thanks

I see an SAS supply voltage of 14.8-15.0v, which is perfectly normal... My D3 Build Thread

Not really but I had status TRUE on another graph which worked so I think it might mean the sensor is OK in some way. Why we do not have all these things in the GAP manual is a mystery. I will ask Patrick

Patrick just said to check the actual angle and see if it moves smoothly but didn't directly answer the status question

Because its largely irrelevant, unless your having a specific issue...My D3 Build Thread

I suppose if the angle can be read (it is deduced by the ECU from the return voltage) then the sensor works so why does this parameter exist? Odd

It's there from JLR, for some pretty specific issues. I've never had the need to utilise 99% of the live data values for the last 17 years, but it needs to be there, just in case My D3 Build Thread

From this morning and the status is TRUE

I get the impression the sensor is OK and there is an intermittent fault somewhere - but where?

I am getting the impression the sensor works but has had an intermittent connection problem caused by a bad contact. If I make sure the angle reads OK before starting, I don't get any warning light at all

The usual million warning lights - HDC, ABS, EBD, gearbox etc etc.
LR can't find the fault though I am not sure they are doing either more than using their SDD tool which seems to be no better or more comprehensive than IID
