Be interesting to see what happens if you Caledonians ever get the chance to vote to leave the union - what's you view? Do you think that the Scots will go for it?
dont want to get into splitting hairs or anything but i think at the moment we(Scotland)have MP's,MEP's and MSP's.where as those south of the border have MEP's and MP's.So just who would you be sending back?we dont want your tired and used(Expenses cheating)wanabe Scotsmen back, and that includes Brown
But as an aside dont want to get into a political conv on such a good forum

Disagree mate. There isn't enough proper political discussion in this country. If you don't want to read it, there's always another thread.

If you don't like politics on forums then you certainly like stirring the mix.

I think you've already risen!!!
I'm all for more politics - we've all got views I'm sure and as long as we're all civil or jovial I'm confident none of us will fall out.

Historically, Scotland didn't get a choice when it was annexed by its neighbour in the 18th century. I'd like to have that choice but unfortunately, ALL the major UK parties will not allow us the choice. It's no good if we all vote for the SNP up here. That still does not give us independence from Westminster. Ask yourself why that is?.........
The only reason the UK has had a labour government at all since WWII has been the Scottish labour contingent swelling the numbers in Westminster. So WHY are the conservatives also unionists when it does them out of a majority??? The truth is that a conservative administration in Westminster without the Scottish economic flow would be impotent. Read the McCrone report which was 'classified' as secret in 1974 - you may discover some English humility. The older I get, the more I realise that people confuse wrinkles for wisdom

I guess we English don't have a clue whether you'd be better off being independent.
From a fiercely nationalist point of view you probably would but whether that would be economically viable only time would tell.
I suppose we are less than humble down here becasue we are the majority. As a Northerner I feel closer to Scots than to the Metro-centric South East which rules our nation.
Having said that, as a Yorkshireman I feel I've got plenty to be proud of without being English, although we sub-divide ourselves by Ridings so obviously I think the North Riding is better than the East and West. Tribal? Me? Never!2013 D4 HSE Luxe in Indus Silver
