Hi Gary,

I just looking to buy some oil now for Miss Moneypit. Was there a particular reason you went for the EE rather than the XF that I should consider? Seems the XF (Premium) is currently cheaper than the EE ( Nanodrive)

Hiya

I think it was because if the reduced wear that I went for that one

Funny enough the EE at the time was more expensive than the XF , lol

Must admit the engine sounds quieter and smoother but could have just been me imagining it

Will be interesting to see what u think of the XF plse as an alternative to the EE

Many thks

I emailed technical at Millers & asked the question given Moneypit is 14 years old, has 142K on it & does around 1500miles a year. They said go for the EE as like you say it has the low friction & is best for cold starts.

Given the way the car is used these days it rarely gets to temp because of short journeys I think i'll follow you & go for the EE when I can find some at a decent price.

ok ... what is best C1 deal at the moment ? will check in the morning what I already have in the garage but pretty sure I just need about 4 litres so Halfrauds Comma 5 litres at £26.39 delivered is looking reasonable. (with tradecard Smile )

price from one of Martin's links is better ... just looks a little too viscous to pour into engine. Whistle

That’s a really nice price (I did the euro conversion with today’s rate). I also bought some Comma the other day for a similar price from Germany but I think our oils are different - mine was xtech 5W-30 (2x XTC5L). The usual Shell oil wasn’t available.... their loss Mr. Green

I also got a few liters of Comma SX75W-90 (1x SX5L) for the differentials. Thumbs Up

Just looked in my (SDV6 3.0 l)handbook and it says 5.7 litres. will put the lesser volume in and see where it sits on the gauge in the morning. Very Happy

Just seen this thread after a search. Would love to hear views on the Comma xtech as I have 6 litres sitting in the garage from a previous vehicle and about to do an oil change. Thanks.

Comma is a reputable vendor and their oil doesn’t seem any different from Mobil, Shell, Castrol, etc. that I’ve used in the past.

Edit: make sure the xtech that you’ve got suits your vehicle - mine is a V8 petrol but yours isn’t Thumbs Up
