Limited Performance (water in fuel)

Good day,
Maybe someone can help?
Last year I bought a Disco 4 2010 3.0 SDV, strait away has changed all filters and liquids, so made normal technical service.
Recently the message "Reduced Engine Performance" appeared. In my local service(not an official dealer)guys have connected to diagnostic and said it showing water in fuel filter. Message was deleted for first time and checked, no any water was found and even signs of water. Then after couple days message appeared again then we changed the sensor itself. But after 2-3 days the message appears again and this guys told me that they don't know what to do =]
I had an advice to change the fuel filter again as an option.

In my city there are no official dealer's centre.

The actual power of my engine is not reduced she performing perfectly.

What will be your advice?

Thanks in advance!
Alex

Yes changing the filter housing solved the issue for me (it came with a new filter included as well). If you have the fault code P2264 is the one that was giving me the restricted performance issue and some (but not all) diagnostic equipment shows this as water in fuel even when there clearly isn't.

Discoteca - where did you buy the new fuel filter housing from? Thanks.

chopdogs, mine was in for service anyway so got the main dealer to do it at the same time so sorry can't help with the best place to buy the housing from. Incidentally I didn't ask them to diagnose the fault as I was certain what it was and didn't want to pay for diagnosis - didn't even tell them about it - just asked for it to be changed.

I can't help wondering if a contributing factor was that the main dealer that it went in to previously for a service (which would have involved changing the fuel filter) is known for using non LR branded parts for vehicles on a service plan, which mine was. The fault certainly only started after that service; could be coincidence possibly, possibly not. Either way there seems to be plenty of evidence that changing the filter housing cures the problem, but then of course is that evidence tainted because almost inevitably the filter will have been changed at the same time?

Anyhow when it was changed it went into a different main dealer and the LR filter holder came with a genuine LR filter obviously and no reoccurrence of the fault since.

Could someone please let me know the part of number of the housing unit

I keep getting P2264 (every couple of days) and have checked the fuel in the filter and there was definitely no water in that so presume its a faulty sensor

thanks
