Now that all you brats have had your say, can we agree that the LR/D3 is NOT a BMW either X3 or X5????

If you like them and want something more 'sporty' the RRS front seats should fit straight in without any modifications The End

In all seriousness though, some do find the seats uncomfortable. I'm tiny so nothing truck-sized suits me therefore don't care really, maybe I should try Prius seats  Ironically, my friend owns a 97 D1 and loves my LR3 seats, headrest sits just right for him at 6'1".
JW don't know about seat swapping, but have seen some posts on people making their headrest adjustable. Might be worth searching on.
Finally, some actual positive feedback instead of harassment. Thanks for the ideas as I'd rather spend a few thousand to make this thing the best of any vehicle I could choose from in all ways available. I've not heard of any way to make the headrest adjustable because they are supposedly designed this way to be safer in an accident. At 30,000 miles per year for 5 years, the D1 seats left me feeling better in some aspects, which is why I was so surprised at these being newer and such.
Otherwise, I think the lr3 is the best overall design on the road which is why I got it, except for the crappy gas mileage - oh there I go again, not willing to just be handed what automakers think is "good enough".... 96 Disco I, 210,000 miles - still going strong

You are totally right. I am too easily loured in to defend myself when someone picks on me for no good reason - and I do apologize for taking the bait and being a part of the nonsense that followed. One might find it all quite hysterical however I don't understand why a person like Simon must make presumptions and accusations about someone they know nothing about simply to fill their time.
Coincidentally, my Rover tech here in the US, who is also named Simon, would never act like that and he was born and raised in the UK. His family came from there and started the English Cars shop I have taken my rovers to for over 10 years now. So, I figure this thread was an anomaly. 96 Disco I, 210,000 miles - still going strong

I will in fact be looking into RRS sport package seats (supposedly something slightly different than the standard seats offered here in the US) as well as the RR HSE seats on 06 or earlier that have even more adjustment options. The new seats however have the side airbags in the seat itself so I don't really want to compromise the overall safety in the process. 96 Disco I, 210,000 miles - still going strong

I'm totally serious and asking the UK opinion, is saying "Rover" like saying "Jag" or "Benz"? And if so, is Rover or any of these disrespectful or something? I grew up hearing people say "Benz", "Chevy", etc. and tend to say Rover when anyone hearing knows I mean Land Rover. If I had a cool Series III, I would call it a "Series" when saying what I'm taking to the cabin or to the hardware store.
I have many times corrected a friend or someone who asks about my "RANGE Rover" and I first correct them in that it's a Land Rover - Discovery (#) and that Land Rover makes all of them. 96 Disco I, 210,000 miles - still going strong

Rover is/was a different company - now gone like most British companies into foreign hands. Used to be part of the same company until Rover sold Land Rover to BMW.
The company has always been called Land Rover and never just Rover over here. Saying Rover is US slang... don't think anywhere else calls a LR a Rover.
Its like calling a Ferrari a Fiat due to Fiat owning Ferrari. Or a Lambo an Audi etc etc.
Mercedes Benz is the company so shortening it to Benz is acceptable... as with the other examples you mention. So I guess doing the same with Land Rover is technically correct but still very wrong

Also, Rovers weren't marketed in the US as Rovers - a few 800s made it over to America in the 80s/90s but were badged as "Sterling" 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti
