All Lights Off And Engine Running-Possible?
I am involved in some night time operations using night vision equipment and need to be able to switch off all head and side lights whilst being able to still move about in the vehicle, thought about fuse removal but too much of a fiddle, any ideas please?

They wont switch off with the engine running, the best you can do is sides.
If you stop the engine, switch off lights when you start up they are off but as soon as you select drive on they come! The joy of modern vehicles!!

Mine's a MY13, and as Dazboy says, if my light switch is in the OFF position, then no lights come on. Your profile says that yours is a MY11, and I didn't think DRLs came in until MY14.
There is a setting in the CCF for Scandanavian and Canadian markets which will turn the lights on with engine running, so it could be possible that the setting has been changed on your vehicle?
Others here know much more about it than me, but from what you describe, my best guess is that they are set to Canadian.D4 MY14 XXV - RLD/IID BT

So that'll put you in a MY15 and DRL territory! Can't really help on that one then, but hopefully someone on here might D4 MY14 XXV - RLD/IID BT

I think drl are legal requirements, trucks at work can be switched off on the rotary light switch is held to the left for a few seconds with engine running, but not sure if they come back on when handbrake released?

I've done NVG driving in a Disco and the internal lights are the real problem and need tape. Even ones that are 'off' give off enough IR to cause some bloom. The sidelights glow too, but apart from being seen by NVGs these enhance the driving experience when driving with the lights off. They provide enough IR to drive at speed, even down unlit streets on a moonless night.

if you look in the manual, there is a sequence for turning the DRLs on and off using the light dial.
