Lightforce wiring loom.
Just about to give the credit card some serious abuse by ordering 4 LF 170s and an Optima YT along with a Traxxide setup. My question is... is the LF wiring loom worth getting for the spotlights or is it better value to put your own together (or use an un named pre made loom).
I'm not majorly strong on electrics but do fancy fitting this lot!
I have the LF170's and used the LF wiring loom - found it to be up to the job with all the bits
I took it for ease of use rather than make my own (I needed 3 looms)The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

If I fit Lightforce 170s to my Expo rack and used the Lightforce looms do they still need to be enabled or is the whole Lightforce set up plug and play??
there's no reason why you can't make up your own loom if you are a dab hand at that sort of thing. but as I posted above, there is nothing wrong with the LF loom The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

Daft question...
Is there a connector on the existing loom that the driving lamp cables plug into ?
If so, any clue where to look.

To avoid the confusion the only lights I am fitting are the 4 LF 170s that are going on my rack. How did you connect these into your main lights. As I want to have them on with main beam(off road) or off altogether via a seperate switch.
The LF loom includes a connector that splices to one main beam cable going into the light cluster.
For the roof lights, my cables run the length of the roof rack. Two cable pairs left and right. Then down the channel either side of the tailgate, going behind the rear light clusters into the vehicle. The right hand cables then run under the rear compartment into the left-hand cubby hole where it all meets and is attached to a Blue Marine power distribution board. From there I a single cable run along the inside of the vehicle as part of the Traxide/auxilliary battery set-up.
I have plugs on the cables that seperate halfway up the tailgate channel so I can take off the roof rack.
I have each pair fused. All 3 pairs (I have a pair on the front) run via a relay as well
All mine are switched so I can have any combination of 2, 4 or 6 being on with the main beam (or off even if the main beam is on). Of course...I coincidentally happened to have 3x 3-way switches to hand so I can have them on independently (as mentioned, they are powered from the auxiliary battery).
Here is a wiring diagram (courtesy of Bodsy) that may help:
