Levelling a D3
Just had my first go at levelling my trusty D3 on what I knew could be a challenging spot, but I think it’ll be close enough for one night. Also parked my leaky strut on a high point so it would be set lowest and not wake me through the night with any psshhhhhht noises
Used the GAP tool for control and my eye/ass as a level, and want to check I’ve gone about it the right way. I used the test valves function, and then quit, disconnect and shut off the engine.
Now come morning, is it as simple as start her up and flick the switch back to normal height and I’ll be away? Assuming she throweth no fault code at me.
Cheers for any forthcoming advice!

GAP IIDBT G3

Should work fine, if you get any faults, go back into test valves, and simply quit again and all will be well.

That was my plan. Back to where I “broke” it etc. Turns out, it’ll still do it’s own self levelling (leaky strut levelling) even canted up and about at funny angles. And it’s damn loud inside the car when you’re sleeping!
As it turns out, I crawled out of bed into the drivers seat, reversed out of the space and flicked the button and was all back straight again. Easy peasy.D4 XS Commercial - MY16 - Corris Grey

Popping it into ‘build mode’ on the IID Tool before you unplug should stop the self levelling….you will of course need to take it back out of build mode before driving

I think fixing my leaky strut will be the higher priority for me It’s getting very boaty so needs a good overhaul.
Also my next trip away will be several nights in the same spot, so if I haven’t changed the strut by then I can pull the fuse and it’ll not bother me. Or I drop it as low as it’ll go and level up from that corner. I’ve put it down to the bumps before and it came right back up so I’m not feart of that particular button.D4 XS Commercial - MY16 - Corris Grey

I was wondering if it was possible to do this - great news that it is - makes it a great roof top tent car!
