Hi,
My alpacca leather seats look a bit darker/grubbier in the front, whereas the rear ones look like new. What's the best way to clean the seats and then recondition them please?

I used vanish oxy action on my leather when i first purchased the car.
Got the majority of the muck out.
I then used autoglym leather cleaner, then leather care cream.
When i added the cream on the leather it just sucked it up, im guessing it had never been done before.
The vanish stuff is from the supermarket, works well on carpet/trim too. 2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue.

Gliptone is about the best stuff I've used. Be careful with any other cleaners unless they're safe on leather. The surface of car leather is so heavily treated that damaging the surface will mean a trip to the connolisers. It also means that there are few conditioners which actually sink in so be wary of applying too much conditioner as well. Certainly some of the cheaper ones will soften and ultimately destroy the connolised surface.
It's worth bearing in mind that car leather is the lower grade stuff, mainly for toughness and the connolising also helps add durability. Think good quality chamois and how soft it is in the untreated form. This would obviously tear if used as car upholstery so really consider the surface treatment and look after it accordingly.
Meguiars APC @ 10:1 is a safe cleaner. Use with a microfibre cloth and be patient. Then apply the conditioner.
Oh, remember also that perma-air-con is also really bad for the leather as it dries it out.

Second the autoglym leather product.
don't forget to do the drivers right side seat squab twice, the bit you rub your backside over as you get in/out as it tends to wear more than the rest of the seat I find...

I can supply 250ml of neat APC that you can dilute down to 7:1, which is ideal for cleaning purposes. as well as a leather cleaner/ conditioner which will slow down any dye transfer from jeans, drink spillages or general muck/kids as it leaves a protective layer. Also makes cleaning the leather so much easier in the future.
250ml APC 'neat' (requires dilution) in a spray bottle
250ml Leather cleaner/conditioner with cloth
