Lazy Entry

As a new owner I am a bit confused by the lazy entry linked to the remote controls.

I thought it meant that after programming different seat/mirror positions on two different remotes, these positions would be automatically selected when opening with the relevant remote. So if my wife locks the car with her remote, if I unlock it with mine wit would adjust to my seat position on opening the car.

This doesn't work though which makes me think I've misunderstood what lazy entry does or I have mis-programmed something.

Any ideas?

It is supposed to work like you said Thumbs Up

Have you switched on the lazy entry in the LCD settings menu ?

If lazy entry is set to ON in the LCD settings menu, did you memorise the positions on the same seat memory for each key in turn? (ie mem1 with the first key in the ignition and then mem1 again for the second key.)

If you did then it should work???

Oh dear I'm confused again. I thought the idea was that you program mem1 on one remote and mem2 on the 2nd remote.

When you read the manual its not very clear.

Lazy Entry is set to ON for both remotes. Big Cry

Forget the Mem1 Mem2 buttons...... Shocked

Using key1 in the ignition, set the seat and mirrors to your preferred locations. Switch off and remove Key1.

Insetr key2 and set the seat and mirrors to your (her?) preferred locations. Switch off and remove Key2.

Whenever you unlock the car, the seat / mirrors should move to the positions stored for each key. Note that this setting is dynamic and hence works whenever you change the position and then get out of the car and lock it. It always remembers the last seat position used with the key in question........... I think...... Whistle

OK that is what I thought - except it doesn't work. When I adjust seat to her position, lock it with her key, and then open it with my key there is no movement.

I have made experiments with this problem and I think , we have 2 keys: main 1 and spare 2.
For key 1 seat and mirrors position saved. For key 2 – not.
If you use key 1 after key 2 seat and mirrors will run in position for key 1. If you use key 2 nothing will happened.
Apologize for my English

Problem Understood & Sorted

Dear All, Thanks for your replies. It is a strange logic but as per Wiggs' reply the trick is putting key 1 in the ignition and setting all 3 mem buttons to the same position for driver 1. Then with key 2 set all 3 mem buttons for driver 2.

Now when you unlock the seat adjusts automatically. You no longer need the mem buttons.

Thanks, SwissTony Razz

apparently u need to program all memory positions first - this relates both to lazy entry and to side mirrors dip when reverse selected
