Last challenge of the Discovery:convince those who criticise
Hi,
This is the new Facebook video campaign that LR Spain released. It's titled:
"We present the last challenge of the Discovery: convince those who criticised it the most".
At the end of the video it says: to be continued...
Have you guys ever seen a car maker having to justify themselves like that before?
At the beginning of the video, the first comment is: "they've killed the Discovery. This is not a real 4x4".
The second says: "what's going on, can't put it in the mud, shame losing the authentic Discovery myth".
I will not translate the other comments at the bottom of the page but i can tell you they're not good either...

You’re developing an unhealthy obsession with the D5. You need to let go of all this frustration and give in to your hidden desires, and just buy one. 23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

Hi J77,
Did i say anything about your sacred D5 in my post? I just shared a Facebook page sent by a spanish friend, also a Discovery owner, which shows a rather peculiar marketing method, used only by LR Spain, to convince people to buy it...i'm sure some members will find it interesting.
As for " unhealthy obssession", as far i as know, no one ever judged yours to defend the D5 from every remark or criticism made in here by other members. And to be honest, i quite admire you for that!
J77, thankfully we have different opinions to animate, what's arguably, the most popular thread of the forum.
Cheers.

It was a light hearted comment
I’ve yet to take offence at anything someone says about the D5, because really I don’t care, each to their own. I know what it can and can’t do I’ve lived with it for 6 months, I’ve seen the good and I’ve seen the bad. This is my 9th LR, I would like a 10th but given the fact the price has gone up £3k I’m not sure I’m the customer LR want anymore.
I do find it strange you’ve made 105 posts and 104 of them are about a car you don’t like, 1 to introduce yourself and none about the car you say you love so much. That’s an obsession
But as I said it was a light hearted comment.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

At least be precise J77...105 posts: 99 about the car i don't like, 1 to introduce myself, and 5 on the D4!
Sorry, but i can't find reasons to criticise the D4...at least mine. If i did i would!
Cheers.

Where’s the photos, mods? Don’t have to criticise the D4 to post about it 23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

Hi J77,
You're a very sensitive bloke aren't you?
You're right. I don't post often on the D4 forum but that's because i've only joined recently so I don't have anything to add to the D4 that you all don't already know! I don't even know how to post a photo, i've never had a single mod done, and never needed to ask members for help, as i haven't had a single problem with it, apart from knicked injectors, caused by bad diesel in Spain...but this was some time ago.
I don't want to upset you with D5 negatives remarks or comments, so from now on, i'll will refrain from doing so.
Cheers.

Moving things on.
Like it or loath it, its here for a few years and those that have it seem to be happy with it, but its not the car for me and a few others.
Unless the Defender makes up for the short comings, in my view of the D5 and what I need, my old bus will be my first and last LR. However, that might lead me to my first Volvo. D4 HSE EU6 (Known as Jeeves)

Sensitive, in the job I do, working with the great British public
Far from it, and as I’ve already said I’m not interested if someone likes it or not everyone is entitled to an opinion. If you’ve read my thread then you’ll know I’ve criticised the D5 where it’s needed to be criticised, you’ll know I’ve had issues with it, I haven’t hidden anything.
All I posted was a light hearted comment in response to your post, you’ve taken it as a personal criticism.
But I’ll refrain from posting any further in this thread.23.5MY Defender 90 X-Dynamic SE D250 MHEV Pangea Green

.
Your honest reporting on D5 ownership is greatly appreciated.
From my own stand point, the D5 isn't a replacement for my D4, which does make me sad. It's also frustrating, as I can't find any other vehicle that is. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

I think that is why there are so many strongly worded negative comments, it works for me but it obviously does not for many D4 owners.
There is very little else out there to consider as an alternative.
