Hertz at SF do them if you bring the car back to SF. They won't let you do a drop off in another area. Thats was 18 months ago, may be different now.

Had heard that Hertz stopped D3 rentals but hopefully wrong. I had an Explorer for fieldwork out of Seattle, lot cheaper than the D3 but I was on a tight budget.

I was in SF earlier in the month and Hertz deffo still do the D3, although I ended up with a crappy Saturn Vue which is a really nasty 4x4

Where abouts in Cali? You might try Beverly Hills Rent-A-Car. They've got several locations out there & have LR3s & RRSs.I'm not so good at giving advice...may I offer you a sarcastic comment instead?

I did hire from Beverly hills rent in Newport Beach and in LA.
once a D2 then FFRR. all top specs of course
it is ok if you rent only for a couple of days but not more than that
Enterprise rent a car down the road in Newport also rented D2 about half price but could not guaranty 100% that I d get a D2 since one do book a type of car, not a precise brand. Even if booking a few weeks before

Book a smaller car and when you get there just ask for an upgrade they always offer it and it is half the price of booking it prior to the trip.

Just bumping this thread back up, as I'm getting nowhere! Looking for a LR3 in Florida (Orlando area ideally) in early June for just over a week.
Hertz don't seem to admit to doing the LR3 any more. It is not listed on their website in the Prestige collection list. I've googled a bit and found a few travel agent type people that can book through Hertz and have the LR3 listed on their websites as available in Florida but when they got into the booking system, they couldn't find the LR3 available anywhere, even places like San Francisco where people here have seen them in the past.
So, anyone got any ideas?IE - 05 D3 TDV6 HSE - Zambezi Silver
