Obvious question but from whom? Unless it’s from Car Care Plan, it’s not worth did squat, and if there is a clause in the warranty re no variation then that’s also worthless. An email from a dealer means nothing, likewise from JLR. This warranty is not provided by the dealer nor JLR, it just wears the badge which is meaningless when push comes to shove.
I suspect if you contacted CCP re the crank, as peeps have, you’ll either be pointed to the policy wording or just get told outright that it wouldn’t be covered.
