Landrover Approved Warranty |
|
HELP
I own a Landrover discovery registered June 2008 for the last 3 years. I have always taken out the Landrover extended Warranty and have had no problems I renewed my warranty this year below the 75000 mile limit and less than 5 years old and recently the car developed a fault on the cooling expansion tank sensor which was not covered under warranty cant understand why because it clearly staes that an approved warranty is available for cars under 5 years old and 75000 miles at time of purchase which mine was surely this is nt right and it should have been covered. Say I had for example a 4 year old disco with 68000 on the clock and I took out the warranty and 8 months later I had covered 76000 miles would I drop to the select warranty that isnt what I initially paid for, can you help., seems a con.

I renewed mine two days before it was five years old and, checking, was told the full warranty covers for the whole year. Stvmor

Re expansion tank being covered, these warranties either cover all parts or a list of parts/systems, what does your small print say? As to the level of insurance reducing at 5 years, again what does the small print say and did you ask when you took it out what would happen?
Don't expect cover as if it was a new car, you've bought a third party insurance product from Car Care Plan (just badged LR) so it's not a manufacturer's warranty. For that you need to stick within the 3 years from registration.

this is a landrover cover two types approved and select the select covers the basics but is dependent on age and mileage the approved is as good as a new car so it says any way info on Landrover main site with the usual exceptions not properly maintained etc.

Please could you send me the following information via PM:

There are better warranties than the "LR" ones out there, but not as convenient in that you have to pay & claim. Pays yer money etc.

Lots and lots and lots re WD in the Fin & Ins section. Some think they are brill (incl moi), some think they are then spawn of Satan, and every opinion in between. Have a mooch and you'll get a good feel for opinions on them.
