Hi CaverD3 - yes, I will be going.
I suppose I will need to wash my D3 beforehand. I did 2160km in 4 days on a trip down to Yarra Valley and return - from Thursday to Sunday. Plenty of dirt roads and mud from all the rain down there.
6 adults and luggage and got 8.8L/100km (on optimistic trip computer).

How many bottles of vino in the load? Did you think I would leave you crying,
When there's room in my D3 for 7,
Climb in here Joe we'll soon be flying,
I can go just as fast with 7.

Mine is filthy after trip to Jenolan and Oberon Plateau. I think I'll just leave it, it is a LandRover.
Probably not doing much for the fuel enonomy though. mine said 14.1 average. a lot of off road and hoofing it along Jenolan Caves Road.
I don't think I will be there till lunchtime though. It would be good to see other Disco 3ers though. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

It can't be the same Jenolan Caves Road I just came along caverD3, because quite a few of the corners said 15 km with a big U turn type arrow on the trip down from Oberon. Oh, and bloody cold too!
Also I was unfortunate enough to catch the 3 pm exodus from Jenolan Caves back towards the coast and followed three (yes, 3) buses filled with tourists. Bloody tourists!! 'Cept me of course. LeighW
The old girl is on her third engine...
* first ran a bearing (design failure in original engine)
* second had a failure of the water outlet on top of the engine (pls check yours)

Jenolan Caves Road actually starts at Hartley and goes all the way to Jenolan. Bottom half is a bit windy (five mile hill) but the road from Oberon is the steeper one (three mile hill) and the buses can't use it. Coming out can be a pain if you leave when the buses do. Worse is following the 'hat driver' in his Camry crawling up and not pulling over.
D3 handles the road well but brakes can get hot. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Hi Red Disco - not enough! Too much luggage.
The last time I ordered wine and had it delivered by courier, my daughter was home alone... she thought it was a prank as he kept bringing them in!
Regarding fuel economy - the best I have ever had is 8.0L/100km on a return trip to Canberra.
Cheers,
Rob
