Land Rover Techie Disses My D4
My D4 Landmark has just had its 2nd service at a "Westcountry" Dealership....
When I handed over my key I asked when they take the wheels off can they be extra careful as I've only just had them refurbed & Powdercoated ,she made a note on the sheet(I thought at the time this will probably p S the techie off, butI've had my D4 damaged previously at another dealership,so thought I would rather say so)
As always my Blackvue is running 24/7...upon playing it back I discovered this conversation....
"Christ man!,I gotta go careful bout these wheels,f great black wheels!,gotta go careful bout the wheels though!, Ahh look at this bad boy, proper offroad one, that's never been offroad by the looks of things,f white trim look, that's standard,is it ?,they did come like that at one point,f hell !,not my cup of tea,has he got a winch on there ?,I'll have a look,No,f toy then innit?,hey ?,not a proper f off roader"
But I do offroad her....

After about an hour i get a call from the dealer saying "we can't take your wheels off to change your rear pads as the techie can't find the non OEM locking wheel nut socket",I replied"it's in the glovebox ",she replied"ok I will go and look myself,if I can't find it I will give you a call back"...she never did because it was in there ,reckon the techie was too busy dissing my car .
Anyway back to the B/V.....
He then takes it for a test drive to check the brakes etc & reaches 80mph in a 70mph zone,no big deal really I suppose, upon his return he pulls up alongside a colleague and comments.."I think he's gota...I think that's a camera,I think it is" to which the reply is "yeah it records all his driving".."yeah?,mind you,you could be an idiot or a real b d and say well that's a failure on an mot, looks like its stuck to the screen!"...his colleague replies"horrible f wheels painted like that!",so techie says"Mind The Wheels,I've gotta mind me wheels"...why? "coz they new"
I've got the clips saved on the PS3...if I work out how to put it on here I will

Can't wait to see, well hear, the vid clip. Just shows you the brain caliber of the techs, they see it's a camera that records when you're driving but don't twig that it might be recording them. Just can get the staff these days!

dcm, next time take it in post Da Plain and say you want it back gleaming as you took the comments of the techie as a challenge. Mind you if your bling LM wheels were fitted would have been even more interesting.

Not good is it.
Pity there wasn't a LR spy in there to see the attitude of the representative workforce.

A link to the vid clips could be passed on to LR to stir things up a bit.

I would think carefully of publishing a video.....unless of course you have their permission and did advise them that you were filming in a private place 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I wonder if that was the same "West Country Dealership" where i recently took mine. Here also, I had my BV running to witness the vehicle being taken for a test drive and exceeding the speed limit by 10-15 mph for the trip. The Korean Lady announced the fact that Back Vue was recording so either the "Techie" was of the DILLIGAF school or was a "Thickie" or both.
