Ah that brought back bad memories of finding that green pug, not helped by the instructions I had showing it on the wrong side of the vehicle Confused The connections in the BJB weren't much fun either - never again!

Don't forget doing it the LR way also involves a trip to the stealer to get them activated - 10forcash does this for you and I'm sure will travel to the North East.
I fitted my a-bar in a day and wired the spots up including the dreaded CJB in about 4 hours, but i needed 10forcash to do his trickery before i could prove they all worked.

Maybe but mine went through its MOT without one so doesn't appear to be an MOT issue.

ISTR 10 posted some wiring diagrams quite a while back (think I used them when I wired mine up). I stand to be corrected but I'm sure one of his diagrams was for the 'no dash switch' option

I understand what you are saying about the mot ...but

Quote:
It is important to realise that the MOT test does not cover areas of a vehicle's mechanical condition that are not related to safety or emissions (important features such as the clutch, gear box or the entire engine are not tested). Neither does it determine whether or not after market features fitted are legal for use on the public highway, so a vehicle with a recent VT20 certificate could still have major mechanical defects or have features which would deem it illegal to be used on the road.

The police are far more likely to pull you on this .... particularly if you are using higher than the 60w rule for main beam ...for example Liteforce and Roolites run at 100w and should only be used off-road Whistle Wink Overall... hence the requirement for the switch Thumbs Up

This looks to be a much more elaborate job than fitting OEM foglights to my MK I MX5 Confused (helped I had all schematics for the job and being a few years younger/patient when I did 8) ).

One thing I'm not clear though, can they be fitted on the Dicso without the A-Frame?

I asked just last week about supply and fit of spot lamps and mounting brackets,
from local LR franchise.

I was told,

£525 (inc VAT) to supply and fit lamps and a further £245 (inc VAT) to supply and fit bumper mount brackets.

= £770 Shocked

Alan I would suggest you stay away from this particular one: here's the LR retail price (inc. VAT) from their catalogue:

A) Driving lamp mounting brackets - pair PART: VUU500110 £50.00
B) Driving lamp kit PART: XQB500080 £275.00
C) Driving lamps (to fit ‘A’ Frame protection bar) PART: XQB500080 £276.00 (different fittings)

My understanding is you need A and either B or C depending on whether or not you have the A-Frame. Either way it's around £325.00. At £770.00 and say it takes 5 hours to fit as suggested earlier it works out they would charge you around £90.00 per hour labour!!! Shocked Shocked Shocked

I've just bought 2 Hella illuminators HID 9" and a LR mounting kit for the bumper/grill area. On the isolation point, yes the plod will stop one from welding tree huggers to the road with excessive use of bottled daylight, but Hella also do a remote control relay thats cheap and easy to wire into the control. easypeasy Thumbs Up
