Thanks to Slimer and after checking the part number on my headlights (XBC500022) I now know what I have onboard.
Sooooooo back to the original call for advice, what would the forum recommend I go for, I'm looking for additional lighting with good looks a close second and it goes without saying, good price, not cheap and tacky but not OTT either.

something like this...?
The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

Club "yes, I too have had the compressor replaced..."

Yep, what are they and will they go with my standard Halogens(XBC500022 and XBC500032)? ie the spots won't outshine the main headlights?
What about wiring, did yours come with a wiring loom and where/how have you tied them in? Switch, no switch etc etc etc??????

They will outshine the halogens - and 6 definately will... The bulbs are 100w which is illegal for road use. But coupled with the bulb wattage you need to consider the reflector. A high-power bulb in a crappy housing will result in crappy light output. The LF's have excellent reflectors, hence them providing very visible, complimentary light to the xenon main beams.
One other good point with the LF's is the ability to change the front covers - spot/pencil; flood/dispersed; combination spot/flood; plus colours blue (snow) and yellow (fog).
You need to get a wiring loom per pair - either make one up or purchase the Lightforce one. It comes with cables, wiring diagram and switch. And you must have them isolated on a seperate switch ie. they do not automatically come on every time you have the main beams on (unless you switch them).
I have a 3-way switch per pair - off; on only with main beam; on independantly (but they are also wired up to the auxilliary battery so I can safely run them independantly of the cranking battery). The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

Thanks to those who looked at my post and those that offered up suggestions as to which way I should go. I ended up buying a set of Xenon headlights(Very good price off a forum member) to illuminate my way.Java Black 2007 TDV6 SE
