Land Rover CS-Cruise Control
I have been speaking to an extremely knowledgable and nice lady at senior level of LR CS and she is now going to view the site. I do not think she will answer your questions and I wouldn't ask her too, but if you could all list your 'Cruise Control' problems on this post initially, it would help her a great deal.
This is a really great opportunity to get some serious help from a senior person at LR through me to get to the bottom of a few problems, especially the computer ones to start with. She is aware of the compressor situation, but maybe we could start the software here with Cruise Control.
Thread is locked to maintain clarity please PM me with any other threads that you feel should be included in the list above and any comments you would like to add
Cheers
Si

Following replacement of the suspension compressor (and nearside headlamp) my cruise control stopped working near the end of a 3hour journey. No warnings. It started working on restart of the car.
Thread is now unlocked, feel free to post any relevant information including links to other sites if required, I will compile everything into the top few posts
Cheers

Si,
Keep it locked... or it will go all messy like the others. At least we know one thread is protected. And this is a serious one.

Well, my problem with Cruise Control is easy : it is unreliable !
One time it works, one time it does'nt... Usually, a reboot clears it but not always...
And yes, I do wait before starting the engine... Usually I wait till I counted ten AFTER I hear the "Bong"... Should give more than ample time for the software to reset itself !
Usually the use of the 'cancel' button is enough to "break" the cruise control ! No matter how long or how hard I press that button, the cruise control defaults itself after the pressing of that button... Curiously enough the "Resume" button which is part of the same switch works like a charm... Seems it is not a simple case of "switch is faulty, replace it"...

Gurvan this just endorses my thoughts about rubbish software.

I use it all the while, especially in speed limits and it helps with the poor seat to give the spine, legs and hips a break. Don't forget if cruise fails so does your Hill Decent facility. So try thinking about that when your decending a steep off road hill next time!

An update on my D3. I have a D3 with a tow bar, courtesy of LR themselves and mine is with LR for dissection.
