Your fault, I would guarantee is the 'steering wheel slip ring' this is something that is growing, especially with people like me who use CC all the time, town or motorway. None in stock they will tell you and about a 4 week wait. Let me know if it is. Maybe able to help.

No it is the seat, it does your legs in, so have to use CC, but then you have the supper dooper leather ones

Well what do you know ? Just got a call and it is the.....'steering wheel slip ring' ! to BN ! It helped that the fault was there at the time I arrived - They could see the break in contact in their test system.
They are fitting a replacement tomorrow ----maybe ?

The only question now is how long do these rings last. I have found that if you stab the CC button it can break the ring if in a certain place. Well at least yours is diagnosed, but when will it be fixed, lets hope it will be tomorrow.

I don't know if it applies to this at all but:- I was talking to a vehicle electronics specialist who works on our vans, he said that a lot of the problems with "Air Bag" lights and other steering wheel mounted controls was caused when people smoke regularly in the car. It seems it causes a film to form on the rings which can interupt the contacts, no matter how many times you re-set the fault if the ring is not chemically cleaned then the fault re-appears!
Just a thought, do any of you who have the problems smoke?

Lets me out Aprisa as I have never let smoke near my car and the mechanics will die if they smoke near it. I would refuse to take it back if I remotely smelt any smoke in it, new car that is the rule with me if they smoke in it or near it.
Re the break it is when the wheel is in a particular position and the pressure catches something. I am not sure, but it has done it twice on me in fact now.
