Land Rover Assistance
Having bought my D3 from a dealer, as an ex-demonstrator rather than brand new, I understood that I would still have 12 months Land Rover Assistance. However, I find looking through all the bits of paper I've been given, none of them mention the Land Rover Assistance Cover.
Is there a contact number that I can call and ask if my car is indeed registered (before I have an actual need to call them out).
Additionally, does anyone know whether European Cover is included, or you need to upgrade. And does European Cover cover Denmark (this year's planned holiday). Coffeecup

You should get 3 years LRA cover, but maybe this doesn't apply to an ex-demo. Yes you do get Euro cover which should cover Denmark (assuming it's still part of Europe?)
I got a card in my with my manuals with a few LRA details then a couple of weeks after getting my D3 a letter from LR saying something along the lines of "Until you get your Welcome Pack heres the numbers to call for LRA, Warranty issues etc and my membership number"
I'd hassle your dealer, get them to chase LR for the details
Still no sign of a Welcome Pack (plenty of LR surveys though!), has anyone else had one?The End

Surely even buying an ex-demo you would get the full three years european cover ? even if it was minus the time the dealer had the car.
I seem to remember reading somewhere that the cover is with the vehicle and travels from owner (the dealer) to owner (you).
Check it out and makes sure you get what your due or at least the full three years as its plenty cash to pay for a car in the first place. You did them a favour buying their demo machine. Now they get a brand new one to help them sell more vehicles.

To the best of my knowledge, both the warranty and the LRA are transferable on the sale of a vehicle until their expiration. The support is attached to the vehicle, not the owner. Go challenge them on it.
Slimer, I've got all my stuff through - and I think we got our cars from the same dealer.

They are and should have been. You should also have a tracker in your car if it was a demo car.

I don't know about tracker, but the warranty is transferable and LRA is part of the warranty. You don't need a card, look for the number in the service/warranty booklet.DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

Pelyma all LR demo vehicles are fitted with tracker. It can be transfered to the new owner as they are not taken out.

Mine was an ex-demo, was told I had the remaining warranty and LRA cover with it. Dealer pointed out a number on the tax disc holder to phone and this would be sufficant till everything was changed to my name. I wasn't told anything about a tracker either, although some of the other dealers I spoke to mentioned it. The installer who fitted my RAC trackstar system to my previous focus RS said they were pointless these days as the first thing a pro theif would do is look for it and disable it.

ally, yes tracker is a load of rubbish, but 99% of demo Landy's have them for obvious reasons. The main reason is that you have to rely on the police and they are never there. Of course our system 'CATE' is still the best. We can control and locate the vehicle from anywhere in the world and how we like, plus lots more

HI all,
BN can you give me some information about"CATE". We are hopefully picking up our Disco 3 this Saturday and wondered about a further system as I find the idea of such an expensive car being protected by standard fit security a little worrying.

PS Really appreciated the information shared around the site

LRA are on 0800-521786 or +44-208-239-3963 if calling from outside UK. Unfortunately I have had to use the former number a few times with my TDi 300...

You have to phone Land Rover Customer Care - 0870 5000 500 to check the status of your Warranty and Land Rover Assistance.
Did this and my car is covered and registered on their system to me. They will ensure a card is sent to me, which should have been done automatically apparently. You don't have to do anything extra for the European Cover, and Denmark is included. Coffeecup
