Land Rover Approved Warranty
Traded in my D4 yesterday for an Approved Used D5 HSE Lux. The salesman mentioned that from September Land Rover will be reducing the Approved Used Warranty term from 2 years to 1 year

While Ssangyong have done the same. 5 years extended to 7 years bumper to bumper. Seems madness on behalf of JLRJames favourite hobby is writing in the third person.

I guess its stinging them in some way. To a buyer, if only willing to give a 1 year warranty what does that say about the manufacturers faith in their own product :-/
Can you imagine as a sales rep trying to sell a RR autobigraphy or similar and telling the potential buyer it only has 12months warranty how would you spin that.
Would be great if in September they revealed a new manufacturers warranty for all new cars - 5 years or even 7 on the new defender? that would be a good move.MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

Indeed. We’ve mixed warranties by manufacturer to new cars with used car warranties in this thread.

I thought that it was the law for a dealer to provide a 2 year warranty. In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Do we have any confirmation from LR that what the dealer's Salesman was telling SD1 is true?2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2
2015 - 2017: 2 x D4
2017 to date: FFRR SDV8
2023 to date: 2 x FL2 as “second” cars 🙄

For clarity, the OP appears to be talking about the current 2 year extended 'approved' warranty that comes with all LR dealer based 2nd hand motors, not the 3 year manufacturers warranty that would come a new motor.21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Just spoken to the General Sales Manager at my dealer and he confirms that it is true, although there will be an opportunity to add it at point of sale.
It’s not good news and the competition will make hay on this, but it looks like it’s going down to negotiation.2011 - 2015: 3 x FL2

In yer dreams. That would prob sink JLR. It is fine for manufacturers with good quality and production, hence reliable cars. LR would have to seriously up its game, something I doubt it could do.
