My dealer turned me away when I tried to buy this warranty last week. My car is Nov 29th 2004, and already has 71000 miles, and is predicted to be at 90000 at 3 years old.
So, I thought now is a good time to invest in the warranty, to give me relative peace of mind until the car is 4 years old, and will by then be on @ 120000 miles.
My dealer (Guy Salmon) told me that I could only purchase an extended warranty within 1 month of the end of the manufacturers 3 year warranty, and only then if the car had less that 80000 miles recorded. This of course stymied my plan.
Andrew thanks for this information. I will be phoning tomorrow and will post the result.

Please be aware that you can only buy the extended warranty if your vehicle has done less than 80,000 miles.
Even if it's still under the original 3 year warranty - Yes???
I assume this extended warranty has to automatically follow the original?
If so, for example - what if you do 80k in 2yr 1month ?
Does that mean you have to pay the extended years warranty for just an extra months coverage - assuming you're going to take it on again the following year??
Or am I missing something??? I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

Interesting. The LR brochure I saw states that you have to purchase on or before 60K for Allegiance Plus.

OK, so you buy one years warranty at 2yr 1month for £800+, just to cover that extra last month ??? I was a normal heterosexual chap, but in these new woke awakenings I now identify as a Wardrobe.

You have to buy it before you hit 80k, it doesn't stop covering you after you go over 80k
It starts covering you once the 3 years is up irrespective of what mileage you've done as long as you bought it before you got to 80k The End

I think Andrew has got a warranty that he has paid for now, but which kicks in at the the cars 3rd birthday and covers the car for a further 12 months, or 120000 total vehicle miles whichever comes first.

Exactly... your 3 Year UNLIMITED MILEAGE warranty is cool for 3 years

Just phoned them about this, top level cover (which seems to cover most things apart from standard 'consumables') for my D3 (under 2 years old and currently under 45k) is £1244 , next level down is about £200 less and apparently this doesn't cover the suspension and the Allegiance Plus (which apparently on offer but being phased out) is £892 and offers even less cover.
All more expensive than what Andrew's paid for a older, higher mileage D3 Me thinks a trip to my dealer to see what they've got on offer is in order The End

I think its dawning on the warranty underwriters that it could be expensive to offer warranties. I am still awaiting a call back.

I've used warranty works before www.warrantyworks.co.uk
£1122 for a 3 year warranty with a single claim limit of £2500 but no limit on amount of claims. Car hire if the car takes over 8 hours to repair and £50 towards recovery. I have breakdown recovery on my other car for £55 a year.
Add that up and £1287 for 3 years or half the price of the Landrover warranty with the other half been the dealer kickback for selling it. If the repair is more than £2500 then you just pay the extra but it is unlikely to be the case unless something really major happens, Only exclusion I see is the turbo at 7 years old or 80000 miles.
