ladder
Any ideas how to repair this on a LR ladder.
Are there repair parts available?
Have anyone experienced the same problem?

you should also take the boot handle off to determine if it is completely rusted through - there is a flat section of metal (also part of the ladder) that goes between the handle and boot door to hold it all in place. If that is badly corroded the ladder might not be repairable- at least not at a price compared to a new one.MY2008 D3 - It got me hooked...gone
MY2012 D4 - It kept me hooked...gone
MY2007 D3 - Mid-Life crisis toy continues driving me to bankruptcy...
MY2018 "D5" Si6 - But is it a "true" LR...discuss...but now gone
Back in a D4 with a lot of extras....

Have to replace it on my Doscovery 3, MY2008, G4 Swedish selection car.
This model seems to be out of stock everywhere. No option to replace with something else.
Where can I find a replacement sma kind or any ideas how to repair.

Crikey, I hope all the welds aren't like the ones on the lower RHS of the one in the picture! At first I didn't realise it was aftermarket. I think I might do preventative maintenance on mine and get it powder coated!

It is a genuine LR ladder. AGP 780020 or later number VPLAR0164.The problem is not the welding. It is the flat step that has rusted away. And of course lack of care from my side.

Powder coating will be the issue, it never lasts, and once the surface has been broken somewhere which it will do eventually, then it is a rust trap that water can get in but not out.

Actually I was describing the EBay item. I can see that wasn’t clear

Aha...
Anyway this is the only solution for me.To buy this OEM ladder. If the welds are badI have to fix them.
Understand that my ladder "is expired and gone to meet its maker""It´s an ex-ladder".

Had a similar problem on the ladder on the back of a van, although we spotted the failed powder coating early enough to make it salvageable. My solution was to get it galvanised, surprisingly cheap if you can get it tacked onto someone else's bigger order and a permanent fix.

If it is only the step that’s gone and the rest is salvageable it might be worth asking a local metal fab company if they can help. I had a part made a few years ago by a firm for a lawnmower that was discontinued and had rotted away and they gave it to an apprentice to work on as I wasn’t in a rush to get it back. Did a cracking job for £20.00Must stop buying shiny toys....

Got the ladder from direct 4x4.
The mechanic was not satisfied.
Seems to be 2 cm short to fit in the holes from the LR original ladder.
