lack of power when revearsing

Anyone had this problem :

ive only had it about three times in two years but cant work out why, or if there is a problem.

when ive been parked facing down a hill and start the car and select reverse, ive had my foot almost flat to the floor before the revs have picked up and the car starts to move.

I can then roll forward, select revearse again and it reverses no problem. the engine isn't over revving, its as if nothing is happening.

as I say, only happen a few times in 48K miles, but its bugging me.

any ideas ??
