Kinmar security fasteners

Hi,

I am going to get a rear bench from scots seats, and to save on cash im thinking of fitting myself.

With this in mind how do you get Kinmar security fasteners out?? I bviously dont want to wreck the frame or carpet if possible.

Thanks

Scott

Hi Sgooduk, I used IRWIN 5 piece Lugnut bolt grip set plus a hammer and a heat gun. Its hard work but warmed the bolt up first then hammered the tool on then unscrew. Thumbs Up

I drilled a 6mm hole in the side of the bolt and used a drif to turn the bolt out. All in all took about 2 hours and 3 drill bits

I tried the irwins, nightmare they are, however adopted above method and got 4 of them out....

Off to b&Q tomorrow to arm myself with some fresh drill bits Smile

It was hard work with the irwins it took me about 3 hours to remove them all, I think the above method sounds much more sensible.... I wish I had asked that question here first! Bow down
Don't bin the Irwin though as I think there are a couple of very tight ones that are required if you want to put the original seat belts back in.
