Will see in tomorrow, at the moment I’ve attempted it half a dozen times but it hasn’t disabled it.

Nope, not working on mine.

Update. Keyless entry disabled.

Tried it twice before it actually disabled, on the second attempt, a couple of seconds after locking it I heard what sounded to be the filler flap actuator, then it seemed to work as planned.

My16HSE. Just disabled keyless entry after about 4 attempts. Observations the time it worked were:

Door open, held the fob in the car (rather than sitting in it). On the key fob, pushed buttons quite quickly (lights button x 3 followed by 1 x unlock). No double indicator lights flashing on display on pressing unlock button (they flashed on the failed attempts, when I was also sitting in the car).

Exit the fob from the car quickly, closed the door and and pressed the lock then unlock combination in quick succession. Car didn’t lock immediately, but then did about 15 seconds later.

Keyless entry disabled. Btw, keyless start still works (I was worried it might not!!).

Just be aware that disabling keyless entry also seems to disable the auto lock feature that used to activate after about 20 seconds if left unlocked and it detects the key fob is not in range...

Shocked mine never did. Will re lock if you unlock and don’t touch the door handles, but never locked itself when I walk away, never knew it could and nothing in the manual that I’ve seen to suggest this.

You’re right. My novice mistake. It still relocks if you don’t touch the door handles after unlocking...

So I've put a deposit down on a D4 which is with the dealer being prepped at the moment. I had been aware of the keyless entry issue with D4 whilst I've owned Moneypit.

I was going to ask the dealer to disable it, note on here it appears it can be done via the key or maybe using an IID tool?

My question is, do I still need to do it? I see this page on the Land Rover site which implies if the upgrade has been applied then problem solved, at least for the time being.

Thoughts?

i don't think any D4s got the latest super-dooper system that can work out if signal has been though a relay.

If you don't want to lose the flexibility/ease of the keyless entry then get a disklok.

I've eventually succeeded in disabling this on the Icemaiden (MY16). As other have said, I tried the other key & it worked first time.

Can someone clarify "keyless" for me?

In order for either normal method to work the car has to handshake with the key via RF which is a potential security risk, the range may be less using the door button but it must still verify the person pressing the button has the key.

The opposite of keyless is keyed, the only keyed entry is in the passenger door.
