keyfob pairing
Hi,
Am hoping/fairly sure I need to pair both my remote keyfobs. Have trawled the forums and found variety of solutions from right-rear 5A fuse procedure (I haven't got RR 5A fuse) to going to dealers. Now I am very unhappy if I am forced to go to dealers simply for following the handbook instructions to disconnect main battery when charging.
Scenario:
05 Disco3 HSE TDi
Main battery too flat to start, although both remote fobs will lock/unlock car still
Followed handbook recommendations to disconnect battery whilst charging
Reconnected battery, neither remotes will lock/unlock car, drove for specified 6 minutes (make that 6 hrs!!) and remotes still not working
Tried every internet pairing solution I could find without success but cannot believe both fobs or receiver gone faulty simply due to disconnecting/reconnecting main battery.
Very p***** o** if handbook has steeered me towards a big main dealer bill. If I had known this would happen, would have jump-started it and let it recharge itself!
Please can somebody tell me if there is a simple procedure involving key/fuse/ignition position1 etc that I can pair up my key fobs again, and if so, what the procedure is? I know this has been gone over many times vefore, but most posts simply refer to pairing as if it is a known solution, but they then go on to assume the reader knows what it is Please excuse my ignorance, but getting seriously fed up of searching on key/fob/pair/sync/flat battery without finding a solution that works.
Cheers .. John.

Wish it was that easy. Disco is used pretty much daily apart from it's little rest at Xmas (=flat main battery) and both key fobs used. Mostly short trips taxing the main battery somewhat so I put it on extended re-conditioning charge with fancy charger (which is why I made sure it was disconnected) for 3 days and it seems absolutely fine.

Son in law had similar problem plus one lost fob, went to stealer for new fob, stealer kept car all day and could not program new key, they got old key working and referred back to Landrover, Landrover told them the receiver module fitted to his car was now obsolete and had to be fitted with the latest model which is not compatable with the old key , consequently they fitted a new type module, supplied 2 new keys AND ONLY CHARGED HIM FOR 1 KEY FOB . There can be a good outcome some times from the local LANDROVER MAIN AGENT(Stratstone Nttm), this hapened 3 moths ago and was on a 05 HSE.It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

You can't pair them by doing any button combos or silly handshakes
It can only be done with diagnostic equipment ... Either dealer or faultmate can do itG4 Gone ...but not forgotten
