Key stuck unless pushed all the way in P |
|
Hi,
Have had an annoying issue since I got the D3 - when you stop, if you don't push the lever all the way forward into P, the key won't release,
I've had the trim off of the lever and nothing looked loose/broken - not a major issue just seems to not contact a microswitch until all the way forward - anything someone has come across before?
Thanks,
Larry

I had similar on mine, kept slipping out of drive. I just used some wd40 on the pivot and then greased, you could notice the difference straight away, much less resistance.

I may understand this question incorrect, but as I understand the OP question, he said that unless you put your gear lever in the position P-Park, he cannot take ignition key out of the ignition barrel.
If I understood correctly, this situation is one of the features of D3 in order not to let you take your key out with you unless you put gear in Park position.

You are correct, what I think the op means is once lever is in park he has to push it further forward to get the key out of the lock.

Hi
Correct - I have to push forward to the stop in park before it releases the key
Planning on getting under it at the weekend to take a look
Thanks
Larry
