key fobs not working in street

what could cause peoples key fobs not to work in our street. basically you cannot lock and unlock the vehicles with the key fob, or in the case of my D4 keyless entry. it seems to affect about 20-25 houses in our street once you are further up the street they start working again.
although the keyless entry and locking doesn't work on my D4 it will work with the fob unlike all the other cars

nothing has changed recently we can't see anything new that's being erected

someones WiFi router or cordless phone gone faulty? Turn them all off at the mains and see if the fobs work again. If they do start working, turn them on a couple at a time

someone using Chinese ones ?

WiFi should be on the 2.4 or 5 GHz band while fobs in Europe should be on the 433 MHz band for ISM. No way should these, ever, overlap.

If you’re adventurous, get a software defined radio (SDR) and a programmable DVB-T USB receiver and listen in on the frequencies.

Could be a noisy electrical system somewhere. Any problem with radio either MW or FM?
You could contact Ofcom - they may do an rf inspection to identify the source. Could be bad news for someone though.

Garage up the road from me had loads of complaints, people coming in to fill up and not being able to get back in there cars, was mainly land rovers, it turned out to be the contactless system for credit cards.

Any shops near by?

Do you see amateur radio antennas near your home?

so here are the answers to the questions raised so far
no we do not live near any military bases
no the shops are far enough away and it works perfect outside the shops
there is no amateur radio antennas nearby
contacting Ofcom might be an idea will give it a go.it tends to happen for a week then goes away and a week later starts again.
people have reported it to the police but they are not interested.
there is a new housing estate going up but that is half a mile away

I think the Police have the power as do security services to Jam radio signals, required for Bomb disposal units etc.

It’s likely to be deliberate jamming. More likely to be a faulty fluorescent light fitting, motor or power distribution cable or transformer.

I had this, turned out to be a 'video sender'. on the reciveing unit it could send the infra red commands back to the sending unit using 433mhz. Thing is that when the sun was setting it interpreted this as a command and constantly transmitted blocking keys for 100yds
