Kaymar rear carrier, anyone ?

I'm looking for pics of dual spare wheels carrier. I have currently a Front runner 1 wheel version but I've destroyed my rear bumper somewhere in the Rekham region in Morrocco. the Kaymar seems like an obvious choice but what you guys think of if ?
A second D3 ! This time with all whistles and bells (Auto, 7seats, Diff Lock, RAI, all kinds of protections, winch, Extended range tank, iPod adapter....)
First time twice the same car ! and first time third car of the same brand !

I'm loving it !

hmmmm... looks really nasty. I see a glorious Discoverer STT but can't see if it's a 265 or a 1245 R17. THe intention would be to put two 265/70 R17 (so slightly oversized compared to the basic mount) side by side. Would that fit ?

Thx

Benoit

Benoit overall tyre diameter difference of 265 V 245 is approx 3 mm so at a guess I'd say they would fit.If its the depth/thickness of the tyre then any issues could be overcome with a spacer on the mount plate and possibly longer studs to secure them.

If you decide to seel that single mount I'd be very interested Whistle

This was the pic I wanted to see ! Not because of the digging exercice Very Happy Very Happy but because we can see the combo of a ladder and the kaymar system. I'll definitively go for that one !

So the STT are 245/75 R17 and not 245/70 R17... ?

mehari, the larger tyres will easily fit. I currently have two 245/70R17 STT's on my mounts and there is approx 70mm between them. The mounts themselves are adjustable so tyre width is not a problem either.

They do indeed... Embarassed Embarassed

Yet, when driving with the big shoes, I'm putting the car on +5 permanent (and +10 when slow driving) and provided you pay a little attention they are just all right. Went to Morocco back and forth and, yes, although a bit worn out, they are still quite OK and ready for the next adventure in an even more exotic place........................
