Silver without a doubt, especially if you are going to use it as intended. I have dragged mine through the most dense Oxfordshire Rain Forest, and got not one scratch that shows (they are there but you have to look hard). I've seen a Buck Blue one after same treatment and it needed a good buffing afterwards.

I also like the black, and both the blues, and the red is good too, I especially like the new stornoway grey, and if I were ordering a new one now it would probably be my choice, however I don't particularly like the gold, and in the UK, the white looks odd. It needs a lot of bright sun to look right.

I have had a black car once but you could clean it and half an hour later it would look filthy again. Had various colours now and silver beats the rest for looks and is by far the easiest colour to keep clean.

Interesting, I've been told by several people in the motor trade, that silver is now so popular a colour that in the next few years residuals of silver cars will fall. People will want a less common colour, black is tipped as becoming desirable & even white in certain models (such as Golf GTi).
Time will tell of course.
BTW, I have always owned at least one silver car for the past 17.
Black is always the fastest colour though, fact! Smile

Scotland 2007 Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE Auto Java BlackDiscovery 3

Having had at least 15 previous silver cars, I just needed a change

Its VERY true that a nice bright silver will NOT show the little laquer scratches you pick up everywhere but a good wax makes all the difference to protecting darker colours

I know its expensive but I've always used zymol and hence I thought I'd risk a black car this time. anyway I like the way the alpine roof/privacy glass blends in with the darker colours, in white it looks a bit patchworky to me

Just my £0.02 worth.

ps, worst colour for scratches has to be mercedes blue-black, I had an E-class this colour and it scratched if a leaf fell on it!

Scotland 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 Metropolis LE Auto Java BlackDiscovery 3
Colour

My Metropolis is Java Black and looks superb..... however, already have one or two marks where I have brushed against things in the country lanes near where I live.... my Range Rover was Silver and even after 18 months didn't have a mark on it..... mind you the front diff failed twice in that time!! Give me my Discovery anytime!

Touch wood no problems with her thus far..... Very Happy

why not try Arcitc Frost! if it was in a field by its self you would swear it was silver!

but it does have a pale minty green tinge to it bit like an extra strong mint Laughing

Don't tease me - Arctic Frost was my first choice, but I couldn't wait so went for Zermatt as it was in stock. Other car in stock was Buckingham. If that was the only stock car at the dealer with the best deal, I would have waited for AF though!

Love my Zermatt now anyway Smile

Artic frost or Atacama sand would be at the top of my colour choice now if I was to get a new one. Too many silver ones on the road.
