Just buying a D4 XS but a few questions about options as... |
|
..there is a long list of options with some hefty numbers next to them. Is there a list somewhere of those options that can be retrofitted (probably cheaper) vs those that can't. I have specified lockable rear diff as that, according to the magi on this forum, can't be done later but I fancy a plippable Park Heater but don't want to shell out £1020 if I can get it for a fraction of the cost. There other things on the list that look inviting but again have eyewatering numbers next to them. Hence the question.

The remote plip can be added after you have purchased the car, buy the parts from TLO then you could fit them yourself (it's really just plugging a wire in and sticking the aerial on) and then you need somebody like Wiggs to activate it for you, Much Cheapness Cheers Ian

Not sure that the plip can be retro fitted to the MY12 as there are diffrences to the software so I have been told. Wiggs may know diffrent but from memory i think it was Pete who said there were potential issues that may need to be over. MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Thank you for this, do we know approximately how much this would save?

So what exactly are LR charging for? The heater is already there I understand. I will be doing without the ability to preset the time of the heater startup I would guess but hopefully my life is organised enough to remember to do it whilst eating breakfast if it looks chilly.

Set the timer the evening before to allow the car to warm up 20/30 mins before you are due to leave the following morning. That way if the temp drops overnight the heater will cut in. MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Not sure why LR charge so much, I thought the remote parts must be expensive but after contacting TLO I found that not to be the case. If you have the remote fitted, then the timed climate facility will also be enabled
