With the 90 days, this is circumvented for me due to the fact I have taken the warranty out BEFORE my manufacturers one runs out, and they will flow one into the other. So that was another bonus of getting it set up now as well as price, I can't see warranty prices going down as more people may decide to keep their present car in the current climate, which in turn could lead to more claims.
Still at the end of the day it is a gamble, but having seen the cost of franchised dealer rates in london and what it can cost for something simple, never mind the parts, I felt happier paying the cost of the warranty. There will always be the 'what if', but a mate of mine had his D3 engine blow up, 3 months out of warranty, it was a whole new engine required, I don't want that as it would spoil my day

At Warranty Direct, all calls are recorded for both parties sake which is good, they go through a series of questions including asking about current issues the car may have, they also ask about modifications and the like, I don't know if they have some kind of lie detector at the end of the phone but any fibs will invalidate your warranty

WD drove me mad with calls after my first enquiry as to how much, and then varied the quote, up and down, with every subsequent phone call, always in the region of £785.00.In the end, I took extended warantee out with Landrover, £880.00 which includes LR assistance.
At £785, I thought it was too close to LR's price of £880, which I have heard is actually subsidised by LR, if a LR main agent is to be believed.

AFAIK LR warranty is run by Car Care Plan (who also did Tesco). Would doubt very much that LR subsidise it, their interest in warranties dies at 3 years. Big advantage of WD over LR/CCP one is former covers (and pays out for) wear & tear items.

I can confirm that Car Care Plan (CCP) quoted £400 for the year, that is a car up to 5yrs old (12mths not 13 given by WD) as stated they also did not cover a lot of things that WD Luxury Care did, including Wear & Tear and use of franchised dealer at unrestricted rates.
At the end of the day there is a lot of info on these threads, you need to read them all and make your own mind up, as we all have different tolerances to risk, different budgets and different vehicles e.g. mileage/age/model
My CCP quote was through the CSMA website who offer a discount, may suit someone on here, that is why I have mentioned it, but costs £15yr to join the CSMA and get a quote, so maybe ask a CSMA member to get a quote for you first

I found a first e-mail I had from Warranty Direct detailing what was covered in Extra Care and the cost, this was later negotiated up to Luxury Care and Franchised dealer unlimited rates cheaper, but this will give you an idea of what to expect, I have all of this and more with the Luxury Care package:
LR D3 GS Manual MY09
The best level of cover for you is Extra Care Cover. The price of the package is £589 for 12 months (Network Labor Rate).
Warranty Direct price includes:
* Warranty cover Mechanical and electrical breakdown cover
* Car Hire
* Overnight Hotel Accommodation
* Emergency Travel
* Technical help line
* Discounts off your future MOT and service
The Package also includes “Emmisions & Airbags†cover for free.
You also get a Wear and Tear cover. This means if a covered component fails because it has worn down over a period of time, e.g. Wheel Bearings, Shock Absorbers etc, we will still cover the cost of that repair.
5 major things that make us the leading warranty company :-
Wear and Tear failures are covered.
We cover failure caused by un-insured parts or Consequential Loss.
Service and MOT failures are covered.
Over heating is covered
Also, we cover diagnostics on a valid claim.
The type of things not covered by the warranty are Consumable items like Tyres, Break pads, exhaust etc.
Your Claims Limit is the value of the car at point of claim.
We handle all our claims in house. We have a dedicated team of engineers here 6 days a week so it allows us to process claims very quickly. The turnaround time is up to 7 days.
The excess fee is £ 50/claim.
You have to provide proof of service and MOT if you need to make a claim in the future. You could be 1000 miles or 28 days over your service. Any more than that, your policy could become invalid.
You have a 30 day cooling off period to ensure you are happy with all elements of your policy. You have the right to cancel with no charge within your cooling off period.

According to the e-mail I could look at my 'stored' quote on their system, well here it is and I ended up paying £535 for Luxury Care with extra's thrown in

I have just received my Warranty Direct Luxury Care policy documents in the post today for an annual cost of £535 (13mths for 12 offer), it is very comprehensive for Warranty Direct Luxury Care. What is unusual about Luxury Care compared to their other policies is that it covers EVERYTHING other than those items it states it does not cover, where on other policies it states what you ARE covered for, so it's the other way round.
I have just called them to confirm that the following are covered:
EGR valves - YES
EPB (Electronic Handbrake) - YES
Suspension / Compressor - YES
Turbo Cover - YES
Emissions & Airbag Cover - YES
Four wheel drive cover - YES- this covers items such as Bushes, CV joints, Front Diff e.t.c.
Wear & Tear - YES
Labour rate - Franchised dealer
Excess - £50.
So there are a few things shown above for people to consider when considering a warranty, I am no expert but feel my research has pretty much got me to the best cover I can get for the money, hope it helps others in their decision process

The warranty wise website is very good marketing, especially with QW telling you how good it is.
They basically say *everything* is covered.
Has anyone gone with warranty wise?
WD is £200 less, but wont cover me on EPB and suspension whereas WW would.

Why would WD not cover EPB and Suspension, were you looking at a policy other than Luxury Care? Luxury Care DOES cover these items with Warranty Direct I just called them to confirm, see post above

Yeah it's because of my Mileage (88k) I can only get secure care
I just called warranty wise, they confirmed egr, epb, suspension and off road use covered.
Dropped the price by 100, and offered a month free.
But if anyone out there has warranty wise I'd like to know your findings?

OK, good to know how mileage can affect policies as not all will be low mileage like mine, which I think is only covered up to 41k miles on my specific deal
