Just bought a 4x4!

Hi there! Smile

Yesterday I placed a deposit on a new Buckingham Blue (almond interior) LR Disco 4 XS.

I got a good deal on a readily available vehicle so I was unable to add options and I would've liked the rear parking camera and xenon's.

Can these be added aftermarket?

Cheers,
Stu

The answer to both your questions is Yes.

Although the rear camera needs some fine fettling to get working.
If you have a good search around, you'll find some solutions.

Very Happy

Indeed it is! I have driven my Dad's Disco 3 in Africa several times on safari and loved it. Of course, here in England the safari aspect won't come into it but my wife - who previously showed no interest whatsover - is now asking me to find somewhere for us to go and enjoy 4x4-ing!

We have 2 kids and a dog that will make full use of the space too.

Quite a departure from my 'usual' car type but a 4x4 has been something I have desired for some time now - and Land Rover has always been my 4x4 preference - and I'm glad I've finally made the plunge. Hope to get it within the next week or two.

Still searching but not best pleased to discover the signature lights on my XS need the xenon upgrade! I would be happy to have OEM xenon complete light housings etc fitted if that is possible. I would imagine these can be purchased - just as if the car was involved in an accident and needed spare parts - but do they just plug and play?

Looks like the rear parking camera can be solved although, again, would've preferred a genuine OEM option.

Lots of useful threads though, so I'll continue searching. Smile

Look at bell auto services BAS posts and you'll see some options.

Cheers!

I have sent BAS and Hids4u emails.

I spoke to the Dealer today and asked if they could swop out the halogens for OEM xenon units and they claimed it could only be done at the factory due to a need to change the wiring loom, not just a simple headlight swop.

Sounds odd to me...

I'm sure someone with the definitive answer will be along soon but from reading around here (great source of info) I'm pretty sure that it's the Adaptive Xenons that require additional wiring/loom but the regular Xenons do not. A search will prob throw further info up.

That's brilliant. How did you get permission for that? Or have you got radar/laser jammers to avoid ASM's Laughing
