JLR Solihul Protest?
Here's a quick one.. There seems to be more talk than normal regarding LRs poor build quality, most specifically the crank failure and the ongoing petition for a recall as is happening else where.
My thought, after a visit to the JLR factory in solihul last year we were shown round the factory and it was explained that it works on "just in time" service for things like interiors and other key components. This basically means that seats, door cards, dash etc all arrive at the exact time that the new vehical enters that part of the factory so there is no waiting around. What if all those that felt the JLR should be doing more for its existing customers were to arrange a simple "day trip" to the gates of solihul factory? The number of attendents would be great and the hold up that would inevitably occur for the "just in time" delivery lorrys would cost the factory a great deal. Would this very peaceful and polite protest help encorage JLR to consider doing something about the plite of its current customers instead of simply focusing on kicking out as many new sub standard Land Rovers as they can?
thoughts?

You wouldn’t delay anything unless you break the law, ie stand in the road. If you want to affect LR then don’t give them your hard earned. Simples.

I'm on my last one which is a shame really as this will be my 7th and would have quite happily stayed with the brand but stupid prices and quality have put me off. Current range doesn't do anything for me.
I need reliability as often travel at odd hours outwith mobile phone range. My old 200,000 mile TD5 never once let me down in this respect but was getting a bit past it hence the change.
No idea what brand i'll try next

I just hope that JLR will A. Accept that they have problems/issues and B. Sort them out.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

They’ll do neither, it’s not their job to sort out owners’ driving styles.

If you took 20 D3/4s along at least one would throw a crank or oil pump in middle of the entrance. If a number of D5, RRS and FF go as well, happy days. The chaos of yellow taxis and broken LRs would delay deliveries a bit. Just have to drive them the "wrong" way.An honorable defeat is better than a dishonorable victory.” ― Millard Fillmore

Not sure they’d get as far as Solihull in that senario.

Blocking the gates would very probably amount to breaking the law I would guess unfortunately.
My previous haulage company used to deliver seats, headrests, squabs etc etc from the manchester area to LR longridge or solihull or its other suppliers to have additional pre delivery works carried out and yes it was all just in time deliveries. We had to increase our insurance at the time to cover an apparent one million pound an hour if it was our own fault delay, as a delay could shut the production line down very quickly.
Such as shame they seem to concentrate more on how they can get out of something in place of solving it.D4 HSE Lux MY16 Club Waitomo

It's a good plan and I would join you. Just having a lot of la dies in the area will clog things up. And if you all turn up at their gate and try to get in, the chaos that would follow as they try to turn everybody around and get rid of you would not be breaking the law and would cause a big delay. If the press were to publicise the event then that would also help massively.
