It's Too Good Sometimes!! |
|
Had a panic moment earlier today.
Went to pick up junior EPK from his friends house. Typical snowy side street on a hill but couldn't get parked near the house. Said house had a snow covered drive on more of a slope, not a problem for the Disco and parked in the drive without slipping a wheel. Smug grin moment.
Got out of car, walked towards house, smug look still in place, and started talking friends dad who quickly cut in to say I had a problem pointing towards my car.
Turned round Slow motion moment now takes place.
The car, without wheels turning was sliding back down the drive on the snow which obviously had ice underneath it towards the road.
Dashed after it, managed to jump in and get it started and steer it to safety and a nice black bit of tarmac to stop it.
Smug look now long gone.
It just shows you how good these cars are as I could not have felt the ice under the wheels as it climbed the drive effortlessly.
Next time I'll wait a few minutes before getting out.

Hopefully not too far as it happened to him last year in an 'ordinary' car and he smashed it into the lampost across the street!!
We have an understanding
Tell you what though, due to the weight of the Disco its not long in building a bit of momentum on something like that.

Same experience. Parked on drive when staying in chamonix, as I had done all holiday. Then one morning looked out the window to take in the view of the mountains and whats the car doing in the road . Quickly got dressed to go and retrieve it.
